Now, with our country at a crossroads, Mo is running for Congress to bring change and a fighting spirit to Virginia’s 8th District.

Meet Mo Seifeldein

Mohamed “Mo” Seifeldein’s journey—from working at McDonald’s alongside his Sudanese refugee family to becoming the first Muslim and Sudanese-American elected to Alexandria’s City Council—is a testament to grit, service, and unwavering principle. Raised in a working-class immigrant household, Mo has spent his life fighting for the very communities he grew up in, championing progressive reforms in mental health, housing, workers’ rights, and environmental protection. His experience spans Northern Virginia, where he’s built community, protected labor rights, and served with integrity.
